Ok,
Mum and I finished the 12km walk of the city to surf today! It took us 1hr and 55mins, and we burned 1132 calories (which is why we had fish and chips for dinner tonight!!!) It was a lot of fun and my Mum did a great job! Now we are really sore :) She is getting a massage tomorrow, so that will be good!

CITY TO SURF
Hello All,
Tommorrow my Mum and I are walking in the City to Surf. It's a 12km walk. Looking forward to that, we picked up our numbers today! Last weekend we went on a 6.7km walk that took us an hour so we will see how it goes!! It's for a great cause, the only down side is it starts at 8.15am on a Sunday :(
Will write and let you know how we do tomorrow!!!

INFORMATION FROM MY LAWYER
I wrote to my lawyer asking when I would be able to return to the States and this was her response sent to me on Wednseday.
Hi Tara,
Unfortunately, there's no predicting how long this will take. It's in the government's hands now but once it's transferred to the NVC they should send us the appropriate paperwork to fill out and then we should get the paper pushing from our end. Once we send in the appropriate paperwork, a visa appointment should be scheduled at the US consulate in Australia. I'm guesstimating around 2 months from the time the NVC gets the file, but it can be more.
We will contact you as soon as they get the file to the NVC. Genevieve is following up with the NVC to confirm USCIS transferred your file. She will continue contacting them until we have confirmation that they have it.

Hi Everyone!!
It's Tara...I hope a lot of you get to read this. Yes, I'm STILL in Australia but I have acquired the skills of a lawyer in the hope of getting back to Lubbock sooner. So far it looks like about another two months. As hard as it is being away, it has made me realize how great my life is there, the members, my friends, my job - all of it.
I cant wait to get back...I will keep you all updated, and I will also attach on here what my lawyer wrote me in regard to my situation. Hope you can make sense of it!
